Paper art & Origami

alternative

Being a big fan of Japanese culture, I fell in love with its language, its festivals, its history and its arts. And one of these arts that I am particularly passionate about is origami and paper arts in general.

Origami, the traditional Japanese art of paper folding, transforms a simple sheet of paper into intricate and elegant designs through a series of precise folds and creases. This centuries-old practice, which dates back to the 17th century or earlier, relies solely on the skillful manipulation of paper to create a wide array of forms, from animals and plants to complex geometric shapes. Modern origami has evolved to include mathematical and engineering principles, allowing artists to craft highly sophisticated models that challenge the boundaries of creativity and precision. The art of origami not only serves as a meditative and artistic pursuit but also finds applications in fields such as education, therapy, and even technology, where its principles inspire innovative solutions in areas like robotics and space exploration.

A little talk about Neko Club

alternative

As told above, I am a fan of the Japanese culture and I shared this passion with a lot of my friends. In 2014, we decided to create a club, called Neko (cat in japanese language) and we participated to many events, festivals and conventions. In addition to Origami, we also did other stuff like cosplays or tabletop board games.

Although the club was dissolved in 2018, its spirit remains through its members who continue to explore their passion, the Origami and Paper Art in my case.
